What a record !…when was the last time you saw a Cricketer come in 6 or 7 down in a Test Match and score back to back centuries…. in the two ‘Bad’ cities of AhmedaBad and HyderaBad…. and top the batting Aggregates & Averages !
Our Spinner Harbhajan Singh has done just this in the ongoing Test Series between India and New Zealand….At Hyderabad he remained unbeaten on 111 with seven 4s and seven 6s as India piled on 472 with the help of a last wicket partnership of 105 runs between Harbhajan and Sreesanth….this follows his match saving 115 at Ahmedabad when he came on at 65 fo 6…..India were at one time 15 for 5….
Harbhajan Singh’s scores of 69 and 115 in the first test at Ahmedabad and now this unbeated 111 in Hyderabad takes his batting aggregate past Virender Sehwag to 295 with a stunning average of 147.5 ….put this in perspective when you consider that before this Test Series 30 year old Harbhajan has played 87 Tests and 120 innings and scored 1601 runs in aggregate at an average of just @ 17 since making his debut in 1998 at the young age of 18 !
So do we now have the makings of a genuine allrounder !?…..whatever….but we need him more as a Bowler who spins us to victories rather than a batsman….New Zealand are trailing by 122 runs as they begin their second innings….now let’s hope he follows up his 4 wickets in the first innings and spins New Zealand out cheaply in the second for an India to notch up an easy win at Hyderabad…we have a little over five sessions of play left over today and tomorrow
Man of the Match…Harbhajan Singh….Man of the Series….Harbhajan Singh…..even before both are over!
Cheers !

Incredible clean hitting. His bat swing reminds me of Kapil Dev.
Sachin’s record is in jeopardy….Just another 48 tons left for Harbhajandulkar !
Supreme Confidence induced the clean hitting….I like his passion and spirit and his ‘give it back to them’ attitude…..but Bhajji needs to show his supreme spinning prowess consistently too…that’s what’s he’s been selected for…and that’s what will win us matches….just think Shane Warne has just rated England’s Graeme Swann as the best spinner in the world today!…ahead of our Bhajji….Bhajji needs to prove a point here
